Is this tacky? Likely as all, yes. Typical fare to be expected from F. though, I never claimed to have taste or tact in spades.
ANYHOOT. HAPPY BLOODY HALLOWE’EN, PEOPLE. I’m at work on a hallowe’en special for this comic, but it will likely be rather late . . . Unfortunately. Too much to blummen’ do, really. Will try to get a move on with that at rabbitish speed, I promise. In the meantime, something well worth mentioning . . .
Many thanks to Meg over at ‘Godsend’ for linking me! You lot, check this out! http://www.godsend.shatterlands.com/
Her mastery of the manly form and facial expressions, as well as having mastered solid, clean linework, complete with masterfully balanced lights and darks means that Meg, you are a MASTER (or is it Mistress?). You’re acestuff, and thank you, again!
So, RIGHT. Who threw a smashing hallowe’en party? CARLEA AND I THREW A SMASHING HALLOWE’EN PARTY . . . althoughadmittedlyCarleagetsmostofthecredit. Oh, where to start? There were decorations beyond belief! There were costumes! There was music! There was food! . . . Oh sweet, sticky Lord, there was FOOD. We made graveyard cupcakes with Milano cookie headstones. Carlea made little white meringues that looked like ghosts. I made pumpkin cheesecake. There was cider and maraschino cherry punch with a frozen ice-hand coming out (and if a few of the ice-fingers became casualties in the process, I chalk it up to the creepy factor, meself). We played games, painted pumpkins and bobbed for apples, not in that order . . . And I can now testify that apple-bobbing ought to be an olympic sport. That shit is bloody DIFFICULT . . . Kudos (medals?) to those who managed it! Thank you to everyone, who came! Particularly to Sully and Morgan who braved a heck of a drive to get here, and boldly led the charge in the bobbing of the apples! It was fab to see you both, and thanks for coming out! Ditto to my dear coworker, April! And to any of Carlea’s friends who may be reading, thank you so much for coming! It was positively darling to meet all of ye ^_^
Carlea and I were discussing the sad absence of Hallowe’en outside of the US, and although I cleave proudly, stubbornly (occasionally embarrassingly) to my heritage, I will READILY AND VOLUNTARILY admit that all of my non-Yank mates are MISSING the fuck OUT. That is all ^_^
