DAILY SKETCH PROJECT
. . . Just what it says on the tin, petals. I’m going to try to do a WWW sketch every day. I need to get myself to draw faster . . . HENCE, the challenge shall be to start this thing at work and finish it at work (leastwise the pencil bits, because it’d be ill-advised to lug my lappy et tablet to my work). Given that I have two 15 minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch, that gives me approx. one hour to complete the sketch (plus any tomfoolery tacked on later in Photoshop).
Right. Challenge out there and in play. Ready, set, goo!
. . . and, DONE!
19th January, 2011 – 8th May, 2011The main goal of this project was to see if I could last for a substantial amount of time in any sort of ‘daily’ venture . . . And for me, that meant breaking into the triple digits. In other words, 100+ sketches in as many days. And since 11 is my lucky number, that seemed an add-on at least vaguely apropos. So, here we are.
AND WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?
. . . Well, this project demonstrated varying degrees of success. Admittedly, there were some days in which I could not manage to finish a piece . . . But overall, I became faster trying to meet those deadlines and moreover, I now draw the characters far more consistently than I used to (an ongoing battle for me). SO! I’d say this thing was, overall, a successful venture. Might do it again next year. WE SHALL SEE.
